Hi, we are so happy to meet you. To introduce ourselves, we are Fred and Gayle, mid fifties with our children all grown and making their own mark on the world. We dream of early retirement to allow us to travel and ride our bikes at leisure while we still are fit and able.
Like most people we have mortgages and regular day jobs. So we had a choice to make, continue the same daily routine and change nothing or take a chance and get out there to follow our dream. We are going with the latter!
We love the outdoors, visiting new places and riding our bikes. So we decided to incorporate it all and have jumped in, boots and all, and in February 2020 we purchased a retired 53 seater school bus. We have been renovating and are planning to set off by March 2022 at the latest.
As well as the renovation we need to organise how we can sustain our life while on the road, no longer having a permanent job. We have spent countless hours watching videos and reading blogs on bus renos and money making opportunities on the road but have found most of them to be American.
We want to share our Australian experience in all these areas with you and have started this blog to help people who are already doing this or dream of doing it in the future. It is our first attempt at blogging but here we go! Please give us feedback, positive or negative (be gentle please lol!) so that we can try to provide info that is relative and helpful. Fred is a fantastic researcher so if there is something you would like to know just ask.
