We now have a bus in our back yard, stuff has just got real. But by real I mean we really want to just dive in and do everything right now. The real real was that we needed funds to renovate the bus and that meant we needed to get serious and put the house on the market.
This started a myriad of questions, ideas, thoughts. To sell we needed to tidy and do a few fixes. If we sold where would we store all our stuff; longterm what do we keep, and where will we store it? It was now serious, no longer just a dream and we not only had to think about the here and now but also how we would fund our full time bus life. The only thing we knew for sure was that we wanted to renovate the bus and live full time in it. None of this dampened the enthusiasm though. We continued to watch heaps and heaps of Utube videos on renovating, funding roadtrips, reading people’s blogs etc etc.
Gayle couldn’t help herself, she just wanted to get into it. Due to the COVID Gayle’s weekend work had been put on hold, so for the first time in a long time she had the whole weekend at home. Taking advantage of this, she removed all the passenger seats leaving a blank canvas.
That’s as far as we went for now with the exception of mapping out our floor plan (more than once or twice). It was time to get to work on other things as the means to the end. We concentrated on the house to do’s and Fred did some refurbishments to Merlin, our other bus, to ready him for sale.
We stuck with this plan for several weeks continually looking at the bus with dreamy eyes. But life is too short and without hesitation Fred agreed to the suggestion “we could spend months and still think there is more to do or we could do what we really want put the house on the market and start on the reno’s”.
Yep we are doing it, the house is on the market and we have started on the bus. Stay tuned as we will be posting more soon, including pictures. We have been working on the inside of the bus for a few weeks now.
