Posted on December 18, 2023December 18, 2023 by gayle.decosta

While I was flitting off to Melbourne for 10 days to catch up with the kid’s and attend the work party (very important stuff and a good time had), Fred soldiered on with the build.  What a trooper! While the subframe and chassis are still open and easily accessible, we Continue Reading

Posted on December 10, 2023December 10, 2023 by gayle.decosta

Well a girl loves a good shop!  Actually I don’t, in fact it’s one of my least favourite things but I gotta say shopping for your new home is very satisfying.  Expensive, but at least you feel like you are ticking things off the list and you know me and Continue Reading

Well we’ve made it to blog number 3 – manufacturing and fitting the subframe to De Trucksta. This is Fred’s forte so he got to planning the construction.  Steel sizes, amounts to order, measurements not to mention accounting for the bend in the chassis.  Yep there is a bend in Continue Reading

It’s Official – We are on the Road!

Posted on April 27, 2022April 27, 2022 by gayle.decosta

On Tuesday 15th March 2022, 2 years after purchasing our bus, with renovations basically complete we drove away from our block for the last time. The block has been sold, another era to lock away in the memory banks. We always set ourselves a deadline of March 31st 2022 and Continue Reading

Getting Closer to Full Time Travels

Posted on November 22, 2021November 22, 2021 by gayle.decosta

Lockdown rules lifted so it gave us the opportunity to hold a garage sale. Now I can’t lie it wasn’t the biggest success ever but we managed to reduce our surplus a bit and anything is a bonus. We still have heaps to get rid of one way or another. Continue Reading
