Well what a jam packed couple of weeks. We have been based as Mirboo North, hanging out to have Christmas with the kids and or course our wonderful friends and landlords, John and Lee-Anne. We are so grateful that they let us stay at their place.
As you all know, we have been slugging it out trying to get the trailer registered. It officially ran out of SA registration on 27th November and despite many attempts, we just couldn’t get the final tick to get it registered. Fred persevered and yes it is finally registered, hella-bloody-lujah! 🥂 The great team at Prezioso finalised the roadworthy for us, we emptied the trailer and got the official tare weight docket and after a few false starts, Vic Roads finally relented and registered it for us. Our biggest issue was the fact that the trailer never had a vin or chassis number, well it does now. Also they were a bit out on the weight of the trailer, as it was listed on the SA registration as tare of 1000kg. Obviously De Trailer must of been in the good paddock as he now weighs in at 5360kgs. Anyways, it’s finally done so that is a huge tick off our to do list.
Fred has been doing some odd jobs around here as well, replacing some guttering and fixing the spa.
While he has been busy pulling “our” weight around here, I’ve been off to the big smoke a couple of times. I had my work Christmas party – last one with Kooyoora as I am now a crazy mat lady. We had a great day at the Brunswick Bowl Club complete with the best BBQ lunch and wonderful people,
I also spent a few days with Tan, topped off with a fantastic night out to see Furnace and the Fundamentals at the Forum in Melbourne. Dinner and a concert with my girl – best night ever!
I’ve also managed to find some time to hang out with Jamie and Lincoln and ticked off a bucket list item, working as dish pig for JA’s restaurant. Man that was big, of course I was lucky enough to jag the busiest night! Lucky you only need to tick off bucket list items once 😜 I was too busy to get any photos 😂
Fred as been riding, loving the hills in Mirboo North and enjoying the views and new friends he happens upon.
Now a couple of posts ago, I eluded to a big secret. While Fred and I love travelling full time, we have decided we are ready for a home base as well. After many ups and downs, broken contracts etc, we have a contact on a house in Newborough which settles the end of January. This doesn’t mean we won’t still be on the road as we have plenty of mat shows booked for 2025. We are excited thinking about spending more time with the kids and friends in the future while still being able to kick back in De Trucksta whenever we want.
From our family to yours, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Thanks for following our 2024 blogs, the year of De Trucksta.
Stay tuned, we’ll see you in 2025……….
