Blog 22 – One Show to Another

We have another show this weekend in Bendigo but had a stopover in Shepparton to pick up more mats.  Brad and Vicki were headed this way so we took advantage to top up.  After loading De Trailer, we all headed to the pub next door (handy hey😉) for lunch and a bevvie which may of been followed by happy hour at our trucks 🍷🍺

Next day we headed to Bendigo and the Racecourse to check out where we will be setup for the show.  As we are a heavy vehicle we aren’t allowed to drive on the grassed areas, lucky for us we were able to utilise a road in and got to within 100 metres of our allocated spot.  We weren’t due to setup until the next day but took advantage of this and got stuck into it.  It still meant carrying the stuff across but we originally thought we were going to have to park outside and walk everything in a much greater distance.  All up it took us 6 hours but we got setup and headed to the caravan park, which is conveniently next door, where we will call home for the rest of the week.

Our new marquees worked a charm in the wet weather

Fred went for a ride and found a rail trail which we utilised.  It was warm and dusty but a great ride with plenty of history.  We rode back through town checking out wonderful old bridges, Lake Weeroona where I found turtles sunning themselves and old trams. I took the pannier bags and proved we are able to pick up a case of beer and cider and get it back on the bike. 🤣🤣

Turles sunning, there were heaps of them

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were showtime, we had all facets of weather, hot, steamy, drizzly and pouring rain.  It didn’t deter people having a great time and we chatted to many.  The show committee celebrated the end of year by providing a meal and drinks, we had a lovely night meeting other likeminded people.

Stay tuned……..
