Taking advantage of being back in the Valley, we had organised our annual appointments, one being our medicals. It seems there is truth to the story that wine can be good for you as I passed my heart and liver function tests with flying colours 😂🍷🤪
It was a busy week, more work than play as we organised for the 3 day show at the end of the week. It didn’t stop a catch up with the family though with Tan coming out for a visit. My heart is full and overflowing.
But it was time to stop the play and focus on the work. We had our four new marquees and but we up for the challenge of the setup? Absolutely, in fact they went up a charm, work out the first one and the other three will follow. Then decide on how to arrange the tables and start loading. A few hours later job done!
Friday was day 1 of the show and it was considerably quieter than we expected. Day 2 was better but bloody hot and day 3, final day, went off with a blast….. literally with the storm cell that hit. We were having a great morning and then bam, next thing we knew we were both soaked to the bone from trying to attach the marquee walls. We had a captive audience of about 10 or so hiding from the elements and Fred and I were cheerily hanging off the marquee roof to ensure we didn’t all do a “Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz”. I just wish I could have had my phone to take some pictures but it was in the other corner of the tent. Well you can’t say I don’t make the best of a situation, by the time our new friends decided to brave the weather and make a run for it, we had sold a couple of mats.
We were luckier than some, coming out relatively unscathed with only a couple of bent flag poles and ground pegs. What an adventure!
Well the weather made for an early finish, so pack up and time to head on our way as we are due in Bendigo for another show next weekend.
Stay tuned……..
Love your grandson.
