Firstly, Happy Birthday Freddy! Tomorrow marks his last revolution around the sun in his fifties. This hasn’t slowed him down though!
What a productive week we have had, finishing off bits and pieces and tackling some bigger projects.
The last mudguard has been attached, “Back Rack Man’s” lights are wired, including number plate light and we have installed the new radio player and uhf.
We have had the cutout for the entry door done for a while but hadn’t actually fitted the door. It wasn’t as easy as the widows which were basically plug and play. After some trial and error, Fred worked out the best way to fit it and bam it’s done.
This then moved us back to the steps. If you remember last time we decided that they were a bit unstable for our liking so with the addition of another locking attachment we have improved them markedly.
It was time to get up on the roof, well Fred anyway, I’m not a fan of heights. We have had continuous days of rain and the sun had come out. First we installed the exhaust fan. The opening for this had been cut weeks ago but we found that the fan was faulty and had to wait for it to be replaced.
Next was the solar panels. We glued the box aluminium which would act as the mounting points for the panels. Letting that dry, we attached the panels next morning and Fred then wired them ready for final connection to the panel. We are waiting on our cabintry to be installed to allow the wires to run through the cabinets.
Our Super Singles finally arrived but the wheels nuts supplied were not the correct thread. Bummer! We attached one wheel just to take a look but are now waiting on the new nuts to arrive.
During the week we ordered our 270 degree awning. It arrived and we have stowed it for future install on the back.
Fred fabricated the bed frame and I painted it ready for install. While I had the roller out I decided to give the roof rack another coat and just as well as I think I missed as many bits as I had painted on the original job. Funny though, I can’t seem to get sacked!
The reversing camera has been installed, waiting connection and Fred installed the Hot Water System.
Finally, Fred cut out the openings for the boot space doors. One is fully fitted with lock installed and the other is cut out ready for the lock and fitting while waiting for the glue to dry.
Phew, what a week, just writing about it makes me tired lol!
Stay tuned, who knows what next week will bring………..
